Intimate assault is happening all around us. It is sometimes hard to admit that you have been intimately assaulted, but it is even harder to talk to someone about it. The more the time passes after you have been intimately assaulted, the more the feelings of hatred and disgust set in. The secret feels like it is burning through your chest after passing by the person who intimately assaulted you every day before your class at 8:30. The good news is the class Dress and Humanities at Utah State is creating awareness for students on campus who have been intimately assaulted. There is hope but hope is also found at many of the resources offered at the USU Taggart Student Center. One of those resources being SAAVI an agency set out to help those who have been intimately assaulted and do not feel like talking. It is a very safe and confidential environment that helps those who are stuck with the secret burning through their chest.
