A Deeper Wound

This image was inspired by my belief of the importance to avoid victim blaming. I find that this image strikes the aspect of how much inner pain victims of sexual assault can feel, especially when they themselves are blamed for the assault. We have learned through our platform that this type of accusations or profiling the victim as the causation of the assault is extremely dangerous and unwarranted. Victim blaming doesn’t have any place in our society and it doesn’t aid the situation, but rather harms the victim further. These types of incidents damage the progress society has made towards protecting the victims. It is highly important to understand that victim blaming does no good and thus the inspiration for this photograph. It shows the viewer that it is important to keep this concept in mind when analyzing and critiquing sexual assault situations.
